Pearl Carpentry & Design is a women-owned carpentry and construction company available for standard carpentry or contract work. She specializes in custom curved design, architectural carpentry, and high-end residential builds throughout Victoria, BC, Vancouver Island, and the Lower Mainland of Vancouver.
Founded and led by Esmeralda (Esme) Mair, Pearl Carpentry brings over 30 years of hands-on experience in residential construction, design, and project management. Esme is known for her rare ability to blend technical precision with creative vision—particularly in projects that involve complex curves, angled structures, and sculptural elements.
Over the course of her career, Esme has worked as a general contractor, subcontractor, and lead carpenter on high-end custom homes, renovations, and architectural builds. Her expertise spans every stage of construction, from initial layout and excavation oversight to concrete foundations, structural framing, and fine interior finishes.
Esme is proud to collaborate with other women and is committed to creating an inclusive, respectful, and safe space for LGBTQ+ clients and collaborators. Every project is approached with care, openness, and a genuine belief that great work is built on trust, and mutual respect.
